About this Project
UC Davis is upgrading its fire alarm system on the Davis campus to reduce costs while improving reporting speed and reliability. In compliance with the National Fire Protection Association, the university is replacing its outdated system, which relies on Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) lines, with a wireless mesh networking system. The first phase of this upgrade includes installing a receiver located in the Fire & Police building for central, 24-hour monitoring and replacing the alarms in 25 buildings near the main receiver, including the ARC, the Student Health and Wellness Center, California Hall and more. Additional buildings may be included depending on the outcome of construction bidding.
