Capital Projects

Capital Projects

Consisting of Major Capital Project Management, Special Project Management and Cost & Schedule Controls groups, the Capital Projects team leads and manages a wide-range of projects to support the University’s strategic capital plan. Through delivery of on-time, on-budget, and sustainable projects, we strive to enhance the student experience, cultivate an inclusive and diverse community, and support advancements in teaching and research.

Major Capital Project Management

The Major Capital Project Management team is led by licensed architects providing project management and related services. From planning through construction, this team is responsible for large scale capital projects ranging from $3 million to over $100 million in size. Projects are typically new construction or major renovations with extensive site development work, complex programs and LEED certification.

Special Project Management

The Special Project Management (SPG) team provides project management and related services, from planning through construction; typically supporting projects in the range of $50,000 to $3,000,000 that are diverse in nature. Recent SPG projects include the Howard Way new monument entry, the elevator modernization program, general assignment classroom renovations and the Foundation Plant Services screenhouse.

Cost & Schedule Controls

The Cost & Schedule Controls team supports all units at DCM. They prepare and peer review project cost estimates, construction change orders, and detailed schedule analysis as well as create and maintain the record copy of capital improvement budgets, drawdowns and project schedules.
