UC Center Sacramento

About this Project

The development of the UC Center Sacramento, or UCCS, serves to create a place for educating UC students – California’s future leaders – in the craft of politics and policymaking, while making the expertise of faculty from the nation’s leading university system available to decision-makers in the legislative and executive branches of government. UCCS is a place where students will come from their home UC campus for a quarter or semester of their studies to be directly involved in and learn about government and policymaking as they live, work, intern and learn together, as well as a home office for teaching faculty and staff.

The current site, located at 1115 11th Street in Sacramento, will be renovated to include classrooms and study spaces, a lounge and kitchen area in addition to indoor and outdoor event locations for lectures and gatherings focusing on current policymaking issues. Students will be able to use these spaces to interact with members of the government and public to exchange ideas and actively collaborate on the strategies that will shape California’s future.
