AggieAccess Phase 2

About this Project

AggieAccess integrates three major safety components—building access control, intrusion alarms, and video capabilities—into one unified system that integrates enhanced security, convenience, and efficiency. 

Previously, campus facilities relied on multiple key-card access systems, requiring users to carry various card types. With the roll out of AggieAccess, a tap of one’s phone now serves as a single "key" for user-customized, secure locations. The update also provides the UC Davis Police Department with the technology to remotely monitor areas and quickly make access adjustments, all while ensuring compliance with privacy policies and better safeguarding user data. 

Phase Two expands on this framework to extend coverage to additional campus areas and enhance security measures in others. These buildings include Mrak Hall, the Music Building, Veihmeyer Hall, Briggs Hall and nine additional lecture halls, including California Hall, Wellman Hall and Olsen Hall. These buildings were chosen because of the number of users and the level of impact these security improvements will have. Additional buildings may be included depending on the outcome of construction bidding.
