Controlled Environment Facility Expansion

About this Project

UC Davis is already home to the largest public installation of a controlled environment facility in the nation. In fall 2019, we will further secure our research excellence in this area when this expansion is complete, and an additional 38 growth chambers come online, bringing our campus’s controlled environment growth chamber total to 188. The chambers in this facility can grow plants under controlled conditions ranging from chilly, dry, and subfreezing to humid and hot environments. The expansion of this facility adds an additional 5,500 square feet to the already existing 6,900 square foot building and includes enough room for office, support and research space to accommodate current and future faculty needs.
